Fall 2018 Tour, September 11-16 2018, The Catskills (Book at Bottom of Page)
Join 718 Trips and Tours for a 6 day/5 night 272 mile unsupported (camping!) tour of the Catskills. Tour leaves Brooklyn on September 11, returns on a Metro North train (Poughkeepsie to NYC) on September 16th.
This trip is "Self Supported" (we are camping!), as riders will be responsible for their food and shelter. You will be among helpful friends, so don't fret! 718 Cyclery provides expert free advice on packing solutions you might be looking into. Riders will leave from 718 Cyclery on Tuesday, September 11th at 7am. Riders will take a train from Poughkeepsie on Sunday, September 16th to return home. Riders are responsible for purchase of train ticket.

The first hike of the series was a success! All went as planned on Sunday with logistics and no one missed the train. Yay!
We are getting off the bikes and going camping at Malouf Mountain near Beacon, NY. Price includes campsite fees AND round-trip train tickets from Grand Central Central to Beacon

Micro-Tour 4 was a 58 mile ride to Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, NY for a night of camping, cooking and log tossing.
This non-drop group ride leaves from lower Manhattan for a night of self-supported camping at Mountain Lakes Park in Somers, NY. The ride is 58 miles each way.
Sleeping Bag selection is critical. From a packing standpoint, it generally is one of the more bulkier items you will travel with, so so size and weight are important. In addition, and more importantly, sleeping safely and comfortably is one of the most important parts of any trip outdoors.
2019 Micro-Tour 3 was a 30 mile ride to camp at Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field. It's a 12 mile ride straight from the shop, but we stretch it out by circling around Broad Channel, the Rockaways and Jacob Riis Beach.
2019 Micro-Tour 2 was a ride from New York City to Croton Point Park for a night of camping. We had excellent weather heading up, and a ton of rain on the return.
