The 2017 Micro-Tour 4 was a ride from 718 Cyclery through the Rockaways to a campsite at the Gateway National Recreation Area, commonly known to locals as Floyd Bennett Field.
The ride was 29 miles, and passed through many diverse and far-flung NYC seaside communities such as Gerritsen Beach, Bergin Beach, Canarsie, East New York, Mill Basin, Howard Beach, Broad Channel, Seaside and Rockaway Beach
The ride left 718 Cyclery at noon, with all present and accounted for. We rode through Prospect Park, went through a block party on Parkside Ave, and then it was a straight show down Bedford Avenue.
The First rest stop was at Mile 9 near Plumb Beach
The ride continued east, hugging the ocean and traversing 4 inlet bridges on our way yo Broad Channel
The ride then hooked south through Howard Beach and Broad Channel on our way to lunch at Rockaway Beach
The ride then continues west on the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk
The group stopped at Jacob Riis Beach
After Jacob Riis, but before the final bridge to the campsite, the group stopped at some pretty sweet food trucks
Tyler will tell ya, this truck has 149 variations of smoothies
Heading north for the final push on the Marine Parkway Bridge...note Manhattan skyline to the left
