Queers 4 bikes had our first group ride on the longest day of the year; summer solstice 2019. It was all we could dream of and our queer hearts were filled all the way up. We did a quick ride, ate snacks, read tarot, and relished in all the beauty that new queer friends and bikes in the summer sun brings.
We meet at 718 Cyclery at 6:30pm. After a quick name and pronoun circle we got on our sturdy two wheeled friends and rolled out at 7pm on the dot (SORRY TO THE STRAGGLERS, WE WILL WAIT FOR FIVE MINUTES NEXT RIDE). We rode for a quick twenty minutes to the Valentino Park in Red Hook. After dismounting our bikes, we found a spot to eat, chat and watch the sunset over the bay. While pulling tarot and being gay we ate pickles, spicy dried mango slices, and chocolate (pretty cool snack spread if you ask me). Grateful to everyone who came out to Queers 4 Bikes. Thank you for a wonderful celebration of bikes, summer, and pride.
Stay tuned. The next ride will be just around the corner.
