2016 update in progress

Pony Rustler Carbon XO1, $5499 Pony Rustler is based off its older sibling, the Horsethief; melding the same 120mm of incredible Split Pivot rear wheel suspension technology with the enhanced performance characteristics of 27.5 x 3.0” tires. Like the Horsethief, Pony Rustler can tackle any trail, anywhere with confidence, while raising the bar for how hard you can push through corners, scratch and claw you way up climbs, and monster truck down chunky descents. Pony Rustler features a Split Pivot chassis with a Boost 148 rear end that makes room for 27.5 x 3.0 tires. The 27.5+ tire features a similar overall tire diameter as a 29er, but with a smaller diameter rim and drastically increased tire volume. Paired with the wider hub flanges of the Boost 148 rear hub, the end result is a stiffer and stronger rear wheel that has the same roll-over characteristics of a 29er, but with an insane amount of climbing and cornering traction due to the sub-20 psi (approaching single-digit tire pressures) than can be run. With traction and tire pressures approaching a fatbike-like threshold, one might mistake the Pony Rustler for feeling and riding like a fatbike. Quite the opposite is true however. The magic of the mid-sized tires is closer to a modern 29er on steroids; think fast, smooth, and nimble. All that rubber on the ground means Pony Rustler redefines where and how you choose to ride your lines.

Pony Rustler GX 2X10., $3499 Pony Rustler will be offered in four sizes in both carbon and aluminum versions. Every frame size features a mount for a full size water bottle and stealth dropper seatpost routing. A Boost 148 compatible crank is required (and spec’d on completes) for adequate ring clearance and drivetrain alignment with the wider Boost hubs, while retaining a standard MTB Q-factor. All other components are standard sizing.  Pony Rustler is compatible with both 1x (32T max) and 2x (34/24T) drivetrains. All Pony Rustler completes come with 27.5+ wheels and tires, but the bike is fully compatible with 29 x 2.2-2.4” wheels and tires with no compromises to handling or geometry, so long as the wheelset is laced to Boost 148 and  Boost 110 hubs.

The SB5c is our interpretation of what a trail bike should be — lightweight, great pedaling uphill and a screamer going down. Coupled with our Switch Infinity suspension, this bike will make you smile.

  • SB5c (FRAME), $3,400
  • SB5c X01, $6,899
  • SB5c XTR, $10,499

2016 YETI SB5 enduro

We were able to take our best selling SB5c and modify the carbon fiber layup to produce a pure all-mountain bike at a great value. The frame maintains the stiffness and strength of the SB5c but gains 300 g. Rather than detune the build, we hung great parts on this rig — The SB5 Enduro is a trail shredder right out of the box.

  • SB5 Enduro GX, $4,499

2016 YETI SB4.5C

It was only a matter of time before we rolled out our Switch Technology in big wheels. The SB4.5c is optimized for 29" wheels and has a different personality than our other bikes. The pedaling platform is a little stiffer, so out of the saddle climbs feel effortless. Descending, it’s all trail bike — open it up and let the big wheels roll.

  • SB4.5c X01, $6,899
  • SB4.5c XTR, $10,499

2016 YETI asr-c

The ASRc is a cross-country race machine with an enduro alter-ego. We have optimized every part of the frame to achieve an incredibly lightweight frame (4.2 lbs), so it rockets efficiently uphill. Point it down and it’s all enduro.

  • ASR-c (FRAME), $2,900
  • ASR-c X01, $5,799
  • ASR-c XTR, $9,699

2016 YETI ASR enduro

When we launched the ASRc last year, the frame was touted for being exceptionally light and was embraced by the racing community for its climbing prowess and impeccable trail manners. Our engineers were able to rework our carbon layups to offer an ASR with the same strength and stiffness, but slightly heavier (+300g) and impressively priced.

  • ASR ENDURO GX, $3,699

2016 YETI Arc

Twenty years of ARC racing heritage has culminated into the perfect blend of carbon fiber, big wheels, and xc race geometry that inspires confidence on every section of the course. Fast rolling 29" wheels on the med, large and x-large. The x-small and small sizes feature appropriate 27.5" wheels for better maneuverability and fit for smaller riders.

  • ARC (FRAME), $2,000
  • ARC GX, $3,699
  • ARC X01, $4,799
  • ARC XTR, $8,6799

2016 sb5c beti

  • ARC X01, $6,899

2016 YETI ASR-C beti

The ASRc Beti is our lightest full-suspension bike and features hand selected women's specific components and custom tuned suspension. In order to accommodate smaller riders, we built the x-small and small sizes around 27.5" wheels. The medium and large sizes have bigger 29" hoops.

Focus Raven 27R FOCUS take their carbon-frame technology into the 27.5” wheel sector with the Raven 27R. This is the perfect compromise between the agility of a 26” platform and the comfort of a 29er. The 27.5” wheel offers better contact with the terrain and smooths out the bumps easier than a 26”. A lower centre of gravity gives the 27R easier handling than the 29” format with greater stability.

2016 Surly Instigator 2.0, $1899 Some may remember a Surly model we discontinued called the Instigator. The Instigator was a burly hardtail made for going fast and going big. Our new Instigator picks up where that one left off. This thing is beefy and tough, yet quick-handling and well balanced. This new Instigator differs from the old one of course. Most notably, Instigator 2.0 is what we call 26+, designed to run 26˝ (559mm ETRTO) Rabbit Hole rims. At 50mm they’re quite a bit wider than standard MTB rims, and coupled with our 2.75˝ Dirt Wizard tires the overall diameter is about 27.5˝

Surly Karate Monkey SS, $1199 The Karate Monkey was one of the first production 29ers. It put the 29˝ platform in front of a lot of people at a price within reach of many a bike nerd. Since then 29-inch has become a full-blown category, with entire bike companies dedicated to the platform. 29˝ wheels offer some benefits over the old standard 26˝ wheels. They deliver increased traction, smooth out terrain, carry inertia and generally fit tall riders better than 26˝. The Karate Monkey helped set the standard for 29er geometry. Its rear wheel is tucked in, keeping it nimble and maneuverable. The bottom bracket height maintains ground clearance while remaining low enough to ensure stability. The toptube slopes, keeping the headtube up for good fit and to allow the use of an 80mm suspension fork, while supplying good standover clearance for your little friend.

2016 Surly Krampus, $1699 Krampus is the evolution of the 29er. It’s not a fat bike. True, its got 3” tires on 50mm rims (we call this combination “29+”). But where fat bikes are really designed for slow-speed crawling, Krampus’s frame (geometry, tubing diameter/thickness) has been designed with a long toptube and as short a rear end as we could get away with given the wheel/tire size. This, when combined with the big, wide tires, results in a mad amount of rolling inertia and grip. It rips and responds well to body English. The big tires also offer a bit of suspension-like cushion. Krampus is a trail bike that also tackles all kinds of terrain. Krampus lives somewhere between bushwhacking, speed racing, and back lot dirt track riding, and all this makes it just plain fun to ride.

Surly Karate Monky Ops, $1749 We’ve offered the Karate Monkey as a single speed build for years. It could always accept gears - we just left them off—but Surly, being the nice people we are, decided we’d give you an out of the box multi-speed option so you can start shredding the trails if gears are your thing. In many ways, it’s the same Karate Monkey we all know and love. It uses the same nimble geometry that made the Karate Monkey famous. The tubes are still our very own 4130 ‘Natch tube set we’ve all been riding around on since the beginning, plus you get all the benefits of some nice little frame updates. What are those benefits, you ask? Let’s have a look! The tip of this spear is the 44mm headtube, which allows you to run either a straight or tapered fork like the 15mm Thru-axle Fox Float 32 we’ve spec’d to keep your front wheel planted on the ground and tracking at all costs. The Surly Modular Dropout System, or MDS if you’re into the whole brevity thing, gives you the choice between horizontal, standard vertical or a 12x142 thru-axle.

Surly Krampus OPS, $1849 The “Ops” in Ops here at Surly is short for “Optional” and to us that means that this build doesn’t just have some fancy new trim package, but is spec’d and in this case designed a bit differently to offer the user “optional” utility. Other utility. The Krampus Ops comes with a Surly OD crank, giving you far more possibilities for drivetrain (you can convert it to an off-set double by adding one of our chainrings and then using a direct mount standard front derailleur and an adapter to give you optimal tire clearance). So a few more options there.
