Micro-Tours are Self-Supported Bike Camping trips of 1 or 2 nights, limited to 24 riders. Riders will be responsible for their food and shelter. You will be among helpful friends, so don't fret! 718 Cyclery provides expert free advice on packing and gear solutions (we also sell alot of gear too!) The moving speed is around 10-12mph. Don’t get hung up on those numbers, however, as these are No-Drop Adventures, and no one will get left behind. These are inclusive events, and everyone is welcome.

2023 Micro-Tour 1: April 1-2, Mountain Lakes, North Salem, NY (2 days/1 night). This is 58 mile self-supported bike touring ride from lower Manhattan to Mountain Lakes Park in Somers, NY for a night of camping. We will be leaving from the corner of Chambers Street and the Hudson River Greenway at 7am sharp. The return ride Sunday morning will leave camp at 8am, and will terminate at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

2023 Micro-Tour 2: April 21-23, Delaware Water Gap to Trenton (3 days/2 nights). Day 1 (Friday), we will betaking the train from Penn Station NYC to Port Jervis. We will then ride 40 miles south to Worthington State Forrest, NJ. Day 2 (Saturday) is a 55 mile ride south along the Delaware River, mostly utilizing the D&L Canal Trail to (near) Tinicum, PA, camping at Dogwood Haven. Day 3 is a 33 mile ride to Trenton utilizing the D&R Canal Trail, where we will take the train home. Riders are responsible for train tickets.

2023 Micro-Tour 3: May 13-14, Croton Point Park, NY (2 days/1 night). This is 44 mile self-supported bike camping ride from lower Manhattan to Croton Point Park, NY for a night of camping. We will be leaving from the corner of Chambers Street and the Hudson River Greenway at 7am sharp. The return ride Sunday morning will leave camp at 8am, and will terminate at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

2023 Micro-Tour 4: May 27-28, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Katonah NY (2 days/1 night). This is 57 mile self-supported bike touring ride from lower Manhattan to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY for a night of camping. We will be leaving from the corner of Chambers Street and the Hudson River Greenway at 7am sharp. The return ride Sunday morning will leave camp at 8am, and will terminate at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx,

This is 44 mile self-supported bike camping ride from lower Manhattan to Croton Point Park, NY for a night of camping. We will be leaving from the corner of Chambers Street and the Hudson River Greenway at 7am sharp. The return ride Sunday morning will leave camp at 8am, and will terminate at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

Destination Descriptions

Croton Point Park: Croton Point Park is a 508-acre park situated on a peninsula on the east shore of the Hudson River. This park offers year-round events and activities and has facilities for camping, hiking and swimming. The park, rich in natural and human history, is also the site of historic wine cellars that are thought of be the oldest in New York State and the Croton Point Nature Center. Bathroom and shower building nearby, site has 2 water pumps and 2 porta-potties

Dogwood Haven: Wooded sites with electric, water hookups, showers, flush toilets.

Mountain Lakes Park: The 1,082-acre Mountain Lakes Park is Westchester’s northernmost county park. It is characterized by a rugged landscape and native hardwood forest with miles of trails. The park boasts five lakes and a spectacular overlook, which makes for breathtaking hiking destinations. Site has porta-potty

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation: This 4,315-acre park is the largest in the Westchester County Parks system. Amenities include wooded areas, open spaces, miles of marked hiking and equestrian trails, pic­nic areas, fishing in the Cross River and cross-country skiing and sledding in winter. The on-site Trailside Nature Museum houses wildlife exhibits and offers weekly interpretive nature programs all year long. Camping facilities include open-faced lean-tos and tent sites. Access to bathroom and shower building nearby, site has 2 porta-potties.

Worthington State Forrest: Take a hike through 22 miles of trails where you will find various natural wonders, including Sunfish Pond – one of New Jersey’s Seven Natural Wonders. Climb to the top of Mount Tammany to discover the spectacular 360-degree view. Relax and finish your day off by the campfire in one of our many campsites along the Delaware River and Kittatinny Mountains. The park has 78 tent and trailer sites along two miles of river frontage.  Each site contains a picnic table and a fire ring. Showers, modern toilet facilities and drinking water are available.
